Interiority
The painting of the home interior and laundry baskets has grown out of the ‘working’ series that, all in all lasted almost ten years. It seems a little fitting that after the mining machinery that I had observed with wonder and agricultural machinery that was so familiar yet unfamiliar that something obvious like the disposable plastic laundry basket on the living room floor should seem so comfortable. I viewed painting them as an exercise in meditation, seizing the available moments of beauty accessible in almost anything around us. Notions of labour, time taken, spent, wasted, accounted for, not accounted for.
All works are available as signed limited edition Giclee A4 prints.
